It’s that time again! Oooh, I LOVE the end of the month!
Design for Mankind has yet another eZine treat for you; I can’t believe ‘Inspiration’ is in its third issue already! It seems like yesterday, yes?

Anyway, click here to download [for FREE!] your very own [30+ pages!] copy of Inspiration.
OR, email me right here (subject line “ZINE”) if you’d like a glossy copy mailed to you for $5.
Also, feel free to check out Inspiration’s back issues here and here.
AND, if you’d like to be included in the monthly mailing list announcing the release of the e-zine, email me at designformankind@gmail.com (subject line “MAILING LIST.”).
Love to you, and be inspired.
[p.s. Taking a break tomorrow, but do visit Wednesday for regular (and fabulous!) posting.]

“What’s being overlooked is that art is a different language. It has its own vocabulary, its own idioms– evolved from other art in the recent or distant past. It’s a visual language that is used instead of words.”

It’s that time again… daily time! I’m super excited to welcome the ever-so-talented Jen Renninger to the spotlight today. You know who she is; she graced Design for Mankind last fall with her crazy-awesome Eames paintings, and I’m so pleased to have her back on the site! Welcome, dear Jen, and thanks for sharing your inspiring day [and dog!] with us! :)
5:30 AM We wake up to the glowing alarm clock…

6:10 after coffee and breakfast for everyone else (Bill and our pets.. no time for pictures!!) I finally get out my bowl. Actually it’s a bowl I bought for Bill off of Etsy.. it says ” I love you more than zombies love brains” ! How could you not LOVE that??
6:30 Driving to the gym.. still fairly dark and cloudy.

On the way home from the gym. Nicer. Brighter!
7:30 Finally! Barley gets to go for a walk. this is SO EXCITING!

Look at this color! The nice thing about doing this ‘images from the day’ is that it reminds you to look around at whats there.

Oranges! I LOVE this time of year!!!

I love how this branch looks like a tethered bird…

Such freshness! New budding flowers…

Someone left some love on the sidewalk.

8:45 Finally into the office. Time to get to work for a while. This is where I spend most of my day.. I paint and draw and work at the computer here. This morning I have one project to work on and then I have to run out to shop and do some research..

11AM Met my Mom at Target for some shopping. Look what we found! Cool little animals.

Noon: I run out to take a picture of this place. Everyone needs a little something beautiful.

12:30 Back into the office with another phrase greeting me. Keep calm and carry on!

I received a business card that had this on the back. How wonderful is that?

2pm I start playing with shooting my drawings instead of scanning them. The next few images are some of my experiments…

5PM Leah from More ways to waste time asked for pictures of our home, so I set about doing that..

Barley is done with work.

7:30 Dinner time! We ate at our coffee table.. watching TV. Not terribly glamourous, but very cozy!

10:30 PM Bed time!

So. My hard drive crashed two days ago (actually, it was more of a crash, fire and explosion) and rather than spending almost $500 to fix it, I bid farewell to my handy MacBook and just purchased another one.
[A little Erin-Trivia for you will certainly provide insight into how hard this decision was for me: I HATE new things. They make me tremble, and I'm still washing my hands obsessively before touching the new, white shining keyboard in fear of getting a speck of dirt on it].
Anyway, I am fortunate enough to be betrothed to a Back-Up Nazi, so my files are all in tact. I did, however, make the MASSIVE mistake of not backing up my bookmarks in Firefox OR Safari. Which is bad, bad news for a blogger. I don’t know about you, but thousands of my resources come from my bookmarks where I’ve saved random tidbits of information for the past four years. Needless to say, I’m trembling for two reasons today.
SO. Here’s a little contest. I need all of your help here (Ez– I know you can sympathize here!). Send me your bookmarks. I don’t care how many, how few, but I want them ALL. Place your favorite sites in the comment section, or shoot me an email right here.
And the good news? Whoever sends me the MOST links that I’ve never heard of before OR if you send over something that catches my eye, I’ll send you a free inspiration poster.
Deal? Go get ‘em tigers… I knew I could count on you!! :)
