I am ABSOLUTELY thrilled to release the debut of Mankind Mag and am having the hardest time preventing an overuse of exclamation marks and caps lock. But just so you know, on my side of the screen? I’m jumping up and down with excitement.

Mankind Mag is here. For those of you that missed the prior announcements, Mankind Mag is a new monthly PDF publication from DesignForMankind.com that will now be available as a print edition. Just to break it down for you:
Online = FREE. Preview it here, and download it here.
Print = $8.95. Purchase it here.
Now go, enjoy and be inspired. I leave you with the main sponsors for Mankind Mag, to which I am forever indebted to for their generosity and support. A BIG thank you to the following individuals [among our other sponsors which you can find in the inside cover of the mag!]:
AllyZabba, Edi’s Files, and Lynda Andrews-Barry: THANK YOU!
Lastly, a MASSIVE thanks to you, readers. I know I say this all the time, but can it really be said enough? I am SO inspired by you.
Taking the day off [and possibly tomorrow to catch up on sleep!], but I’ll check in from time to time to see how you’re enjoying the debut. Love to you all!

Can you handle it? [ME NEITHER!]

OH GOODNESS! I totally forgot to encourage you all to see my dear e-friend Lisa Solomon’s show entitled Pattern Redefined at Walter Maciel Gallery this weekend. Saturday is opening night, and Lisa will be there! Eek.
I’m crossing my fingers I can catch a break from the finishing touches of Mankind Mag to attend and FINALLY meet Lisa face-to-face.
Go, and if you don’t see me there, I’m buried in mag spreads. Say a prayer for me. ;)
BEST OF LUCK, LISA!

I told myself I’d post ONCE more, but I can’t squeeze anymore juice outta this lemon. ;)
Have a lovely weekend, and I’ll see you all on Monday for the debut of MANKIND MAG! :)

“i’d name these elena.”

A list of ideas Harrell would love to accomplish:

1. A video of me talking very awkwardly and for a long time about cats.
2. In an elevator at a museum have a low music that starts at the bottom floor and then as it goes to each floor rises up, as it gets to each floor when the doors open the music volume hits crescendo turning into a joyous magnificent choir sound.
3. I dig up a pile of dirt in one area and then take it to another area and water it over time and see what weeds come up.

“truly ‘behind the music.’
from the portfolio of joel holland.

“The mini-laptop club project shows me just how far the concepts behind the virtual world have penetrated into real life. Even with relatively little exposure to computers, these children have absorbed ideas about shopping online, interacting socially with virtual pets and real friends, and even media convergence with their favorite movies and songs loaded on the laptops. They get these ideas from siblings, friends, TV shows and ads, and watching their parents use computers.”
[thanks, the morning news!]

I’ve just received word from MagCloud that I’ve been accepted as a bona-fide PUBLISHER. Which is good news for you, because this means that Mankind Mag [debuting on Monday, June 30th!] will be offered as a PRINT PUBLICATION!
I couldn’t be more thrilled. Those of you that enjoy the PDF route can still download the mag for 100% free, and those of you who prefer hard copy inspiration can purchase a copy via MagCloud.
CAN I WAIT?
No.
Thanks, MagCloud, and Mankind Mag’s lovely advertisers [to be revealed on Monday] for making my dreams come true!
