the dailies: will bryant.

Ohhh, Will Bryant. What can I say about Will? A few months ago I had the pleasure of hosting the fabulous Will in my L.A. home and goodness, is this a fun one. Such an exciting and adventurous weekend, full of creativity that Will exudes everywhere he goes! [By the way, happy birthday yesterday to his sweet, sweet fiance Sally!]

Anyway, he’s been so kind to share with us a day in his life. Enjoy the magic! Go for it, WillBry–

8:00 AM Good morning starshine, the earth says hello! I wake up to my ever so dirty yet colorful room.
8:20 AM BreakFEAST of yummy organic oatmeal with honey (allll gone) some hip hop juice and a starbucks double shot to get me pumping. You know i’m soaring cyberspace as soon as i roll out of the bed! After responding to a few e-mails I gather my laundry and get my Hooded Deer gear together for tonight.
9:15 AM Avey (the kitten) tries to convince me he needs a shower, but i ignore him and gather my credentials before getting dressed in my fiance Sally’s least favorite shirt (which happens to have underarm ventilation).
9:20 AM So im clothed and ready to roll and head out to the “parking garage” to get my on my stallion. In transit to the studio i bump into my good friend, Baleigh, who snapped a sweet shot of me thrashing the campus.
9:28 AM I arrive at the studio and get to working on my new series of paintings. After a few hours of making some progress on my mystical shaman painting it’s lunch time!
11:25 AM I meet up with Baleigh for a snazzy lunch of creme of cantaloupe soup and blackberry salad at Restaurant Tyler.
1:45 PM – 3 PM I sit on the couch and work on client work until my friend Andy drives over from Columbus, MS. He’s helping me out with his photography skills. We shoot some promo shots and potential book shots.
5:30 PM I snag some asian food with Andy and Jonny (sans camera)
6:15 PM I head to the venue for soundcheck and finish decorating for the Creative Warehouse Benefestival. I carefully hung my emergency blanket backdrops from the rafters so the other band playing wouldn’t have to feel my wacky vibes.
9:45 PM The Waco Dead start psyche rocking and im enjoying being with friends.
10:30 PM The Hooded Deer takes the stage to sweatdance the night away.
12:00 AM My set ends and I start tearing down and get home around 1:30 AM sweepy and ready for some tender dreams.
*It took me a week to find an ancient egyptian usb cord for my sub par kodak easyshare. And after reviewing my “photographs” i totally got  to thinking about the evening’s performance and forgot to take more pics. Good thing Andy was there.
Thank you so much for having me Erin :)
[editor's note: thank YOU, my dear!]

  1. YES – A MAN! (not that i need one in “that” way – it’s just that I don’t see them that often in blogging context, if you know what I mean?)

  2. Love that you featured a macho daily! Even though he started out his day singing Good Morning Starshine. We’ll let that slide. ;-)

  4. Alexandra – I AM A MAN! and you make really lovely things.

Laura – I was totally quoting the awkward Johnny Depp line in Charlie & the Chocolate Factory. (not singing!) but go ahead and let me cha-cha slide.

Erin – THANK YOU!! hugs from the south :)

  9. It was GREAT that the first thing he said was good morning starshine, very endearing!
I remember the line from a song in the play, The Age of Aquarius, from way back in the day. I saw it in LA where it was very controversial at the the time because the entire cast ends in a finale completely nude.
I love the dailies so much!
