Ohhh, Monday just got a bit more bearable. One of my VERY favorite artists Dan-ah Kim has joined us for a Daily, where artists/designers/bloggers walk us through a day in their life. A fascinating series for to satisfy your inner voyeuristic tendencies, and yes— this one is a GOODIE! Take it away, dear Dan-ah…

11:00AM
Wake up, wash, make my bed.  It’s a Saturday so my roommate Aileen is home.  We make coffee, lounge around for awhile.  I do my morning reading- emails, google reader, nytimes, etc.  Our cat Gus darts around the apartment, alternating between ignoring us to make mischief, and sitting on our keyboards to demand neck rubs.
12:30PM
Finally dressed and ready to head out- today Aileen and i are really excited for the NY Art Book Fair!  I’ve been sick all week and stuck in my room with tea and headaches, so it’s nice to finally get out.
Grabbing lunch before the fair at a Thai place off the 8th avenue stop, and our friend Tim joins us.
2-4PM
The art book fair is awesome, kind of overwhelming with so much to look through.  I want to buy so many things that I can’t decide, and end up just with Michel Gondry’s new comic.  It’s very crowded and I try to browse as many books as possible (these photos by Aileen).  There’s an art exhibit being auctioned off as well.
5PM
We’re across the street at Chelsea Market now, sitting with iced coffees and discussing all the kinds of projects we’d love to pursue.
6PM
Wandering around in the rain with broken umbrellas, until we get hungry.  Then its burgers in Union Square.  We were planning to head to the movie theater next, but after a stormy day the thought of relaxing in front of the TV with some wine sounds better instead.  We pick up some olives and snacks for the occasion.
9PM
Home is warm and cozy, and Gus is happy to see us (which he expresses by trying to run out the door).  We set up food and wine, and let Tim pick the movie since obviously Aileen and i have already seen all the DVDs we have.  He picks “Half Nelson”, which i actually worked on- it was shot three years ago, so it keeps bringing up memories and I can’t help but give a running commentary…
11PM
After the movie Tim heads home and we clean up.  Then I try to get some work done before going to bed- right now I’m working on a piece for a group show this winter.  This is my favorite time to make art, when it’s silent and dark out, and i have a moment to process things i’ve seen during the day.
3AM
Read for awhile in bed (one of my favorite moments of every day/night), then eventually fall asleep.. Goodnight!
