giri gopinath.

jumping-cow-design

Giri creates art by first spilling paint colors and then filling in her ink illustrations later. He calls them serendipitous.

I call them super cool.

  4. We used to do this at camp for art…we’d paint splotches on bits of wood, let them dry, and then the art counselor would come up with how to make each group of paint splotches into something. She’d then deftly use her black permanent marker to draw in a forest scene, thread the wood block onto a piece of rawhide, and tie it around our necks. She made us feel so cool and grown-up.

  11. I’ve been experimenting in this way lately with watercolors and ink. The effect has not been nearly so grand.
