art in the everyday: an unbelievable water park.

Whoa. Grab that polka dot bikini. Beijing transformed the 2008 Olympic pool into a slammin’ awesome water park. Isn’t it arty?

nicholas bohac’s mixed media piece.

Oh, snap. This piece is outrageously patterned in the most yummiest of ways.

a clip-on milk carton handle.

I don’t remember a handle-less milk carton being that high on my prioritized list of annoyances, but still — this is mad adorable.

lookie, lookie!

A fun little present arrived for my birthday last week — isn’t she a beaut?:

All wrapped up is this lovely little VENT from Omni+. I’m sooo excited to start laying our flooring so I can unwrap my new little love and display for all to see!

Thanks, Omni+! Best birthday ever!

a year ago today…

Joseph was playing table tennis with his toes. Now he’s collecting rejected tape! Love this guy.

amy layton’s dark geometrics.

Amy Layton is a member of the creepy cool crowd, too. I just inducted her. I even waived the annual dues.

p.s. I found Amy through Twitter (thanks, Nicole!), which is where you can find ME. All the live long day.

Now that’s what I’d call fancy footwork. Ha! A Monday pun!

objects of awesome.

Someday I, too, will make art from a paint-splattered balloon and other miscellaneous objects.

Until then, Peter will remain King of Random.

rustic meets industrial.

Now that our siding project is finished (Praise the LORD!), I’m letting my mind wander to more comforting thoughts of end tables and lighting. Most of you know by now I’m a sucker for rustic and industrial goods, and rarely do I find the perfect mix that doesn’t scream “I stole this out of a junkyard yesterday and it’s still a work in progress.”

Until now. Behold, the most beautiful pieces yet:

1. A modern, sculptural side table goes country with beams rescued from a Pennsylvania barn. Bonus? A story behind it!:

Available for $455 at The Steel Fork

2. Sean Woolsey’s industrial lighting made from pipes, steel and all things awesome:

Available for custom pricing at Sean Woolsey.

I’ll definitely be showcasing a piece of Sean’s in my home, but will have to save my pretty pennies for a barn loft table investment. Either way, they’re both [oh so!] gorgeous, yes?
