the “do hit!” chair.

Any chair that arrives fully equipped with a hammer is a friend of mine indeed.

Why you should always own bright yellow galoshes, seldom frown upon the weather and never give up on yourself.

affordable art.

Olivia’s mother emailed me a link to her Pratt-graduating daughter’s art, admitting that yes, she’s that kind of mom.

And because I love that kind of mom around here (and because Olivia is a talent!), I’m sharing it with you, friends. Go, Moms!

p.s. This print is only $45. The colors are all sorts of divine, yes?

italian foulards.

When Brunella sent me a link to her work, I totally had to Google the word ‘foulard‘ because I had no idea what it was. (I’m not the most cultured of gals.) Turns out they are beautiful lightweight scarves/headpieces. And it turns out I love them very much.

geometric drawer pulls.

Lisa Jones is sort of my hero, so when she offered a sneak peek of her new spring line to Design for Mankind readers, I jumped at the chance.

My fave product? These gorgeous ceramic drawer pulls ($24) that are as geometric as they are lovely. Congrats, Lisa!

p.s. Check out the ink blot tote, too — it’s fantastically Rorshach!

This piece of art is a rug. I know. I can’t believe it either.

p.s. Nodus also created this awesome rug. I’m totally obsessed!
p.p.s. I’m not telling you how much this costs, because it will make your head hurt.

our blooper reel.

I tweeted this weekend that we were in the middle of filming hell for an upcoming HGTV.com video (not enough sunlight, then too much sunlight, then an audio issue, and on and on and on…), and by the end of the weekend, Ken and I were 100% slap-happy:

This is precisely why it takes us forever to film a 3 minute kitchen tour. Enjoy!

dala horse rug.

This is too pricey to name (ahem, $2,248.75), but how adorable is this Dala horse rug? Swoon city.
