avant garde photo shoot.

In my world, avant garde is Latin for crazy train. (But I love it!)

a wooden ring.

This ring is the stunning brunette that straps a knife under her mini skirt. Come on. You know the kind. ($110)

laura mayes is funny.

If you don’t know Laura, you should. She’s half genius, half comedian. My favorite mix.

Anyway, her essay in the anthology (my latest project) was enough to make me chuckle at my desk, and after hearing the entire story in person, I can attest to the fact that YES. This happened. There was indeed a possum on her head in the middle of the night.

You’ll just have to read it, I suppose. Which you should, because I have a touching, non-possum story in there, too.

last chance: my portland workshop.

I’m putting the final touches on our curriculum, schedule (and gift bags!) for my Portland workshop and wanted to let you know I’m opening our slots up to NINE more lucky creatives.

For real, this is going to be awesome. Whether you’re stuck in a rut, need some fresh ideas, want to revamp your business plan or would benefit from some one-on-one help from me (copywriting! networking! marketing! whatev!), this workshop is for you.  We’ve got some killer students attending and I’m quite sure a slumber party will be involved at some point.

Anyway, come to Portland. Or if you already live there, come to the locals-only class. It’s going to be slamming and I’m so excited to share this long-awaited dream with you.

Sign up here.

p.s. The beauty of this workshop? I’ll kick you in the pants. This is not a fluffy course, so if you’re looking for an easy, get-to-know-you festival, this won’t be your thing. Get your #2 pencils ready — we’re taking over the world!

an art journal.

I’ve toyed for years with the idea of embarking on a personal art journal project, and Junyi Wu’s just solidified the inspiration for me. What a beautiful peek into her mind.

today’s outfit.

I’ve been meaning to don my DIY wedges for like, ever, and today was finally the day to do it. And in case you’re wondering how to transform average Target wedges yourself, just weave a silk scarf between the straps and boom — you’ve got yourself a pair of super awesome sandals.

I know, I know. Sometimes I even amaze myself. Outfit below with a grainy iPhone pic. Modeling is such sweet sorrow.

a yellow shopping cart.

Either this shopping cart is uniformed in radioactive fluid, or Saga is some kind of talent. I like the latter theory better.
