more collage.

Francisca’s blowing it out of the water with her recent collage and mixed media work. Makes me want to cut up some art and play!

galaxy art.

I’m trying really hard not to make an “out of this world” pun, but it’s the only thing my fingers are willing to type.

hello, astronaut.

Ingrid sent her art my way (she made this piece for her boyfriend’s birthday — sweet!), and I can’t help but feeling like it belongs in a boy’s nursery. I’d totally lie to my kid and tell him the astronaut is the sleep police and he’ll be in serious trouble if he doesn’t catch a few winks. Art in action, no?

an orion sweater.

Speaking of solar systems, I’m crazy for this Orion galaxy sweater. ($190)

p.s. Can you spot the model’s confetti-dotted shorts? Hooray, stylist!

the solar system in 1887.

Looked pretty stellar, yes? (Ha. A kind little Tuesday joke for you.)

By the way, Banana Strudel has an insane collection of antique maps. Go forth and plaster your walls. ($25)

galaxy art.

I feel like I’ve been sharing galaxy art for years, but it never fails to mesmerize and is still trending pretty heavily. I couldn’t be more thrilled!

This piece from Caitlin Foster is really hitting the spot on this thundery morning.

rebecca allbaugh’s art.

Rebecca left a comment here last week and because I’m curious a total stalker, I visited her blog to say hello. And then I found this.

So basically, I win today.

a tiny planet.

Malin creates tiny planets out of urethane plastic. Reminds me that our world really is that small.

a moon floor cushion.

What? You’re not craving a giant moon floor cushion in your home? Get out of here!

many moons.

Aaron mapped NASA’s topographical LIDAR data from the moon to an animated .gif.

p.s. I don’t know what a topographical LIDAR is (does?), but I rather like the result.
